This United States Army issue dress uniform jacket is from the Vietnam era and has the Army-Air Force patch, Sergeant First Class rank, Army Service stripe for three years of Honorable service, and five Overseas Service (Combat) stripes for one-and-half years in combat theater operations. This style of dress uniform would be the predecessor to the Army green dress uniform or the “Pickle Suit” as it was commonly called for what it looked like when worn. Both would be replaced by the Dress Blue uniform that is in service today.
