Lamelo Ball was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the 3rd overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He would be a stud in the NBL of Australia before being drafted by the Hornets. He would win the 2021 NBA Rookie of the Year award and be selected to the 2022 NBA All-Star game. He is one half of the first brother duo to be selected in the top 3 picks of the NBA draft with Lonzo being selected 2nd overall in 2017. He would become the youngest player in the NBA to register a triple-double when he posted 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists against the Atlanta Hawks on January 9, 2021 as the Hornet beat the Hawks 113-105. In the 2022-23 season he would become the second youngest player to record 1,000 point, 1,000 rebounds, and 1,000 assists in their career, behind only LeBron James prior to suffering a season-ending ankle injury. He has signed a contract extension with the Hornets on July 6, 2023. Time will tell what Lamelo can do if he can stay healthy. This would be a great addition to any collection.
