DeAndre played college ball at Clemson University from 2010-2012 under Dabo Swinney. He was teammates with Sammy Watkins and Tajh Boyd. He was drafted 27th overall by the Houston Texans in 2013. Making him the second wide receiver who was taken by the Texans in the first round since 2003 when they drafted Andre Johnson. He would make the 2013 NFL All-Rookie Team with 52 receptions, 802 yards, and two touchdowns. He has made the playoffs four times with Houston with the last being in 2019. During the 2020 NFL Draft, Hopkins would be traded to the Arizona Cardinals with a fourth-round pick for running back David Boston, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick. Hopkins would become the youngest player to reach 700 career catches in his career on November 19th, 2020. His teammate Larry Fitzgerald was the previous title holder. In 2021, Hopkins would get his revenge on the Texans for the trade from the previous year. On October 24th, 2021, Arizona would face Houston, the Cardinals with Hopkins’s seven catches, 53 yards, and a touchdown would hand Houston their 8th straight loss, while the Cardinals would go to 7-0.
