Michael Jordan, or MJ, “Air Jordan” or “His Airness” as he is known by, played in the NBA from 1984-2003. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the 3rd overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft out of the University of North Carolina. He was a part of the 1982 NCAA Champion UNC Tarheels. He would win the College Player of the Year in 1984 along with two Consensus All-American First-Team selections (1983 & 1984). He would win the 1985 NBA Rookie of the Year award while scoring 28.2 points per game on 51.5% shooting. He turned the lackluster Bulls into playoff contenders. The Bulls would make the playoffs during his rookie season, losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. He would win back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Titles in 1987 and 1988. He would lead the Bulls to 6 NBA titles, winning Finals MVP in all six. He would win the NBA MVP award five times; NBA Scoring Title ten times, seven consecutively from 1987 to 1993. He would win four Gold medals with the U.S. National team (1983 Pan-AM Games, 1984 Summer Olympics, 1992 Tournament of the Americas, and the 1992 Summer Olympics). The NBA MVP award would be renamed for Jordan during the 2022-23 season. He would average 30.1 points per game during the regular season for his career, 20.2 ppg during the All-Star game, and 33.4 ppg during the playoffs. This card is considered one of the “Holy Grails” of sports collectibles. It would be an unbelievable addition to any collection.
