This item was given a grade of 75 or Excellent + to Near Mint by Action Figure Authority. R2-D2 was originally in the service of the Naboo Royal Fleet. He would save Queen Amidala’s ship by fixing the deflector shield when she tried to outrun the blockade from the Trade Federation. After her death during the birth of her children Luke and Leia, R2-D2 and C3PO would be entrusted to Captain Antilles. R2-D2 would end up serving Luke Skywalker until Luke went into exile. This would look great in any Star Wars collection, as this is one of the very few remaining 1978 “Original Twelve” Star Wars carded action figures.
