2005 Topps Turkey Red #221 Aaron Rodgers rookie card graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA.  Rodgers played college football at Butte Community College in 2002 and transferred to the University of California, Berkley in 2003.  He would help turn the team around during his time at Cal.  While at Cal, Rodgers completed 424 passes for 5,469 yards with 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.  He helped Cal win the 2003 Insight Bowl over Virginia Tech and earning the game’s MVP award.  Rodgers would forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.  He would be selected by Green Bay with the 24th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.  He would be used in a backup role from 2005 to 2007 under Brett Favre.  In 2008, he would become the starter in Green Bay with the departure of Favre.  He would never look back after taking over the starting spot.  He would lead the Packers to Super Bowl XLV and win the Super Bowl MVP award in 2010.  He would become a 4-time NFL MVP, 10-time Pro Bowler, 5-time All-Pro team member (4 first team selections and 1 second team selection).  He would set several NFL records.  He currently has 4,651 completions with 55,360 passing yards and 449 touchdowns to 93 interceptions in regular season play.  His post-season completions are 501 with 5,894 passing yards and 45 touchdowns to 13 interceptions.  March 16, 2022, Rodgers officially became the highest paid athlete in North America when he signed his 3-year extension to stay in Green Bay worth $150.8 million, with $101.5 million guaranteed.  This puts him at $50 million per year beating out Damian Lillard’s $49 million per year.  When Rodgers finally decides to retire, he will be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he is eligible.
